A Hazy Sunset Session with the Bruce Family

I’m trying to get more of my GORGEOUS clients up on the blog for your viewing pleasure, and I swear it takes me ten times longer than it should (thanks COVID!). Ha! I haven’t quite figured out how to get everything done with kids at home - if you’ve found the magic solution, help a girl out! ;) This was my second time working with the Bruce family, and maybe my 1000th hanging with these awesome peeps. I’m known Amy since we moved here, as both my hubby Ryan and Casey are in the same squadron and are both working for Delta Air Lines now as well.

Rosario Bay (a.k.a. Heaven on Earth)

Rosario Bay has got to be one of my favorite places for a family session on and around Whidbey Island. The steep bluff does a fantastic job block the light when the sun is a little too bright, there’s a fun calm beach with tide pools, and oh year - GORGEOUS views that really remind you that you’re near the San Juan Islands.

Saying Goodbye to Whidbey Island

We headed to Rosario Bay just north of Whidbey Island for their last family session (tear!) before they get ready to move on to a new adventure outside of Washington. If you’re not in a military family you might think it sounds strange that the thought of choosing where you want to live is over-whelming. It’s so much easier when “the man” is telling you where to go. We’re going to be in the same boat as our friends here in a few years, but that seems very far away at the moment (thankfully!).

Those Cotton Candy Skies Tho…

The sky had just a bit of smoke in it from a distant fire, so there was a wild pink tint to the sunset that looked like cotton candy. See for yourself! I just love showing my clients their images for the first time in a slideshow set to music. It makes it a more emotional experience and really conveys the message I try to get across in all of my family sessions - that you are loved. Enjoy friends!
