Styling Services

The right wardrobe can make or break a photo session. Luckily you’ve come to the right place.

Consider Your Location

Whether you’re planning your session for the beach, the city, or your home, here are some general rules to consider:

  • Outdoor beach setting - Pick outfits that have movement, with a slightly beachy feel, like long, flowy dresses and linen shirts.

  • Outdoor mountain setting - The hills are alive! Pick knock-out pieces and take your styling seriously if you’re making the effort to climb that mountain.

  • Outdoor field setting - Jeans and boots might be more appropriate if the grass is tall, but I’d still throw mama in a maxi dress or jumper.

  • Outdoor urban setting - Trendy clothing in bright colors will help you stand out amongst busier surroundings.

  • Indoor home setting - For newborn sessions, casual clothing in neutral colors works best. Think cozy, minimal, and textured.

Color Wheels are your friend

Matchy-matchy is so 2000-late. Is blue your favorite color? Instead of dressing the whole family in blue, pick shades of blue, shades of yellow, maybe add some reds, and pepper in neutrals. It’s all about coordinating colors, textures, and patterns.

‘Tis the Season

Spring and summer outfits will lean toward short-sleeves, shorts, and strappy maxi dresses. Fall outfits include more boots, layers, and cozy accessories. If you fall in love with a dress that can only be worn in July, then book your summer session now!

Start with you, Mama

I tell ALL my clients this, but if you truly want the wardrobe to come together seamlessly - don’t start with the kids. Start with YOU, mama. I want to highlight you as the centerpiece in your gallery, so your outfit should stand out and make a statement more than anyone else’s. Once you find a dress that you feel beautiful and confident in, the rest of the outfits will be easy-peezy.

Don’t want to spend an arm and a leg? I have 30+ dresses for mamas of all shapes and sizes that you are welcome to try and borrow free-of-charge. Looking for something special to add to your closet, but not sure where to look? I have a long list of online boutiques that I’ve ordered from before - their clothing won’t break the bank, but will make you look your best.

the #1 question clients ask is:

“what should we wear?”
